To the Sea

Your song unwavering,

Forever soulfully laboring,

In the distance sings wide and deep,

An ever flowing, long and ardent beat.

And even just when I listen close,

And have my ears stretch past the bird’s quaint dose,

I can hear your drum,

And I have come to sum,

That when your near I will hear that hum,

And I can taste and smell you on the breeze.

Such a freeing salty heart pounding taste and scent,

Will bring me to my knees,

And I can see you rushing on clearly,

Pounding waves like a heart thumping dearly,

And I follow your song, scent and taste,

To travel to your shores, a journey long but not gone to waste.

And finally when I see you,

Long, forever, calming, terrifying, wide, cold, enticing and most loveliest blue,

I am home again,

And it feels as though I am borne anew begin,

And I can fly,

When out in front of me the sea lies.
